Oklahoma State University
THE OSU FACULTY COUNCIL, AT THE REQUEST OF SEVERAL FACULTY GROUPS AND WITH STRONG SUPPORT OF UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT BURNS HARGIS, appointed an ad hoc committee of the Council to explore the creation of a Faculty Club on the OSU Stillwater Campus. The purpose for such a club is set forth here and reflects the early conclusions that such a purpose to serve the faculty could have a more significant impact by reaching out more broadly across the University community. Therefore, it took on the mantel of a University Club dedicated to serve various constituencies across the OSU community. The result is a contractual relationship between the University Club and the College of Human Environmental Sciences to realize our purpose.
Our purpose is to provide a dedicated and attractive venue for social interaction among various constituencies of the OSU community; therefore promoting collegiality and enhancing communication within and between these constituencies.
The preferred provider of facilities and services for the University Club will be The Atherton Hotel and The Ranchers Club, foreseeing a dedicated and attractive venue and addressing the proposed activities and services of the Club.
